Why study a masters? There are many reasons why you might want to gain a master’s qualification, from improving career prospects and earning potential, to studying a subject at a higher level that you’re passionate about, or just wanting to get those all-important letters after your name. Our master’s courses are designed for people at all stages of their careers, from graduates at the start of their professional journey, to experienced professionals looking to gain some high-level academic recognition for their work and career activities. What’s more, you don’t necessarily have to have a degree to study a master’s with us, as long as you have the right level of experience. Our masters’ courses are flexible, with 1-year full time or 2-year part-time options available. Courses can be studied onsite, online or as a hybrid of the two. Master’s level study focusses on a range of specialist areas, from music performance, to production, recording, business and professional project work. Courses are practical with a focus on real-world learning and application. All WaterBear master’s courses are approved by Falmouth University.
At WaterBear, we’re proud to work with some of the industry’s most accomplished music professionals. Tutors and mentors who are all highly experienced at every level of the music industry, alongside our visiting faculty who bring their wealth of experience in the form of in-class masterclasses and Q&A’s sessions throughout the year. As working professionals, the tutoring and visiting faculty team may be subject to occasional change and availability may vary.

We are extremely excited to announce a new scholarship with the legendary Sheffield music venue, The Leadmill! We have teamed up with The Leadmill (@theleadmill) to offer a scholarship award to cover all tuition fees for one lucky student throughout their master’s degree at WaterBear. The course eligible for this scholarship award is the MA Music Industry Enterprise degree which can be studied as a full-time 1 year onsite course at our Brighton or Sheffield campus, starting September 2023, or online, part-time, over 2 years, starting in January 2024.
