Tips on applying to WaterBear through UCAS

Choosing where to study is a big decision and the process of completing paperwork, hitting deadlines and navigating the road to university can sometimes be overwhelming. If you haven’t yet completed your UCAS application, take a breath and begin the process by taking one step at a time. You may have already completed an application with your school or college but here are some tips as a quick reminder or to get you started.

Completing your UCAS application

On completing your application answer all the areas requested by UCAS including your personal details, education, employment history, and don’t forget to include your references. Include everything UCAS asks of you, and you are on to a winner! For further detailed information on completing your UCAS application please visit the UCAS guide ‘filling your UCAS undergraduate application’ here.

Writing your UCAS personal statement

The key to writing a personal statement is to not overthink it. Keep it simple, to the point and insightful. We are getting to know you before you start with us, we want to know a bit about what you've done before. Outline relevant skills or experience, your goals and how the course will inform your music career. Remember, this course is for you, so we want you to get the most out of it and steer you in the right direction. If you'd like to know more, please read 'writing your personal statement guide’ on UCAS or check their 'UCAS personal statement builder' to help your further.

UCAS key dates and deadlines

Keep informed of the UCAS key dates and deadlines and make sure you submit your application in plenty of time, that way you can sit back, relax and look forward to starting with WaterBear. View the ‘UCAS dates and deadlines’ here.

Checking your UCAS application updates

As you’re preparing your application you should also become well acquainted with the ‘UCAS Hub’ and the Falmouth University Applicant Portal (MyFalmouth) and check both for application updates. Also make sure your email address is always up to date (college and personal email) as you don't want to miss any important updates to your application.
