Posted on February 12, 2024

WaterBear students have been offered the opportunity to perform at the world-famous Glastonbury Festival. Offering both a live performance opportunity as well as behind-the-scenes experiences, this opportunity represents an incredible chance for any WaterBear student with aspirations of getting involved within the industry.

Taking place on Croissant Neuf’s band-stand stage, which has seen the likes of Ed Sheeran grace it, in one of the most iconic areas of Glastonbury Festival, Green Fields. The solar powered, 1000 capacity venue has been a mainstay of the festival for over 30 years. This opportunity will be open for any solo musician, or duo, who can play or will be willing to play an acoustic (or stripped back) upbeat, lively, family friendly set. There are also opportunities for students interested in live production, where they will be able to help run both the Croissant Neuf main stage, as well as the bandstand itself. These opportunities will include sound engineering, stage management, monitoring, and many others.

The importance of this opportunity cannot be overstated. Glastonbury is one of the biggest and most famous festivals in the world, and any chance to play it represents a crucial networking opportunity for any young artist or industry professional. Having played or worked at Glastonbury would be a major piece of experience on any aspiring music industry professional’s CV. WaterBear’s career and industry team continuously seek new and exciting opportunities countrywide and beyond to help students build connections and support their pathway into the industry, and this Glastonbury opportunity affirms their commitment to providing WaterBear students with these opportunities.

Students can find this opportunity on the ‘Opportunities’ page on Canvas. All applicants must be over the age of 18 and be available between Tuesday, 25th June and Sunday, 30th June. Applicants will need to make their own way to and from the festival and be happy to camp.
