We are excited to announce a brand-new scholarship formed in collaboration with Pattern + Push, who provide a platform to help new and emerging talent achieve their goals, encouraging positivity and empowerment through music.

Together we are pulling our resources to create far-reaching educational opportunities within the music industry, for students in Sheffield and beyond. The WaterBear Pattern + Push Scholarship is central to those opportunities and aligns with our work to support widening participation, allowing those outside of mainstream education to access higher education pathways. The award covers tuition fees for 3 years of a BA (Hons) degree course at WaterBear Sheffield.

“We're really proud that we are able to come together, join forces and give young people a better way forward, and better pathways into the music industry.”

Lloyd - Co-Founder Pattern + Push

Pattern + Push have selected Sheffield-based rapper Kid Blu3e, to receive the coveted WaterBear Pattern + Push Scholarship Award.

“We saw huge potential immediately in Kid Blu3e with her energy, drive and honesty in her songwriting. We’ve watched her go from strength to strength as an artist and have no doubt she’ll have a career ahead in music. We’re delighted to put forward Kid Blu3e as the deserving recipient of our first scholarship in partnership with WaterBear and as the perfect ambassador for Pattern + Push.”

Jamie Wilkins - Co-Founder Pattern + Push

Kid Blu3e

We can’t wait for Kid Blu3e, a young rapper from Sheffield to join us this September. She will be one of the first BA (Hons) students to step through the doors in WaterBear Sheffield as well as the first recipient on the Pattern + Push scholarship.

We were so taken with her commitment and drive, and her eloquence and stage presence are already making waves across Sheffield and beyond. She started busking at 14 and has performed at events such as the Tramlines Festival, Artbomb Festival, Pattern + Push Freshly Squeezed, and Tedx Doncaster.

“I’m really excited about this scholarship because for me as a person I don’t have the traditional qualifications. This for me is going to open different doors and I can’t wait to meet all the new people that I am going to meet, thank you!”
