We are delighted to be partnering with the Music Managers Forum (MMF) to bring their experience, knowledge and insight to our students, the artists and managers of tomorrow. Our partnership with the MMF will give WaterBear students the opportunity to attend exclusive events, benefit from MMF masterclasses and participate in their Trailblazer Award programme.
The Music Managers Forum (MMF) was founded in 1992 and has grown to represent over 1500 artist manager members, based predominantly in the UK, with an ever-expanding network of international managers. They exist to support all artists and managers throughout the development of their careers and strive towards a fairer, more transparent music industry. They do this through education, mentoring, innovation, and advocacy to provide a collective voice and leadership for the management communities that sit at the centre of artist careers and the music industry.
Through the year students will have to opportunity to attend in-person or online masterclasses with professional artist music mangers to include:
Music Management Masterclass
The music management masterclass will be essential for any music student in understanding the role of the music manager as well music industry in a wider context. The masterclass will also include the role of MMF, their code of practice, and an overview of their campaigns and policy work on music streaming, ’Dissecting the Digital Dollar’, Managing Expectations and their FanFair campaign on ticketing.
Managing Artists Masterclass
During the masterclass artist music managers will discuss their experiences to give WaterBear students the lowdown on what it is like to be an artist manager today alongside the many benefits and challenges.
