Chris Damms is writer and musician who has been in the world of music for many years. His first experience professionally was with a small deal at Chrysalis Records in the late 90's and more recently with Universal Music Publishing in Los Angeles, USA. He was signed by the legendary Lance Freed, the grandfather of American publishing who signed the likes of the Beach Boys, Carpenters, Tom Petty and most recently, before he died, Burt Bacharach. Chris' sound is remenisent of the late 60's, early 70's and has been played on BBC6 music, with DJ's Gideon Coe, Cerys Matthews, Don Letts, Radcliffe and Maconie, Gary Crowley on BBC Radio London, Steve Lemaq, Tom Robinson, and on BBC Radio 2 Dermot O'leary, Janice Young.
As a recent BA lecturer of composition at Hudderfield University Chris recently secured a live session for students at the iconic Maida Vale Studios which was broadcast live on the Cerys Matthews show. He continues to work with young artists to help them develop and through his contacts and associations with PR labels and the BBC hopes to utilise these to also help students at WaterBear.
