Role: Events Coordinator – Sheffield
Location: Sheffield Campus
Hours of work: Full-time
Reports to: Careers, Industry & Events Manager
Remuneration: £27,000 per annum
BACKGROUND
WaterBear is a college of music with campuses in Sheffield and Brighton, and a thriving online provision. The college is an innovator in the sector, with a unique approach to brand, collaborations and a flexible course delivery model.
We are a College of Falmouth University and benefit from a close strategic relationship with our university partner.
The appointment to this post is representative of the company having matured beyond its start-up phase and continuing to grow. WaterBear expects to accommodate approximately 750 students studying undergraduate and post-graduate courses at each campus, with a significant additional number of online learners. The student demographic includes a number of mature professionals with established careers, as well as younger, highly motivated degree and master’s students. The opening of additional WaterBear centres in other locations will take the student numbers to over two thousand within the next few years. Known for innovation, quality and agility, WaterBear will dominate the music HE space in the UK.

JOB ROLE AND PURPOSE
The Events Coordinator at our Sheffield campus plays a key support role in the delivery of student- facing events, performances, and development opportunities. These include (but are not limited to) gigs, masterclasses, festivals, industry panels, development days, Freshers, internal and external performance opportunities, Graduation, and Alumni events. Working closely with the Careers, Industry & Events Manager (Sheffield) and Events Manager (Brighton), you will coordinate logistics for on- campus and external events, ensuring students have regular, high-quality opportunities to perform, engage with the music industry, and build their professional experience. This role also includes supporting the tracking of event-related costs and working in alignment with cross-campus budget plans led by the Events Manager and Head of Music Industries.
