Role: Studio Technical Lead/Estates Assistant
Location: Sheffield
Hours of work: 35 hours per week
Reports to: Head of Estates (Sheffield)

I. BACKGROUND
WaterBear is a college of music with campuses in Sheffield and Brighton, and a thriving online provision. The college is an innovator in the sector, with a unique approach to brand, collaborations and a flexible course delivery model.
We are a College of Falmouth University and benefit from a close strategic relationship with our university partner.
The appointment to this post is representative of the company having matured beyond its start-up phase and continuing to grow. WaterBear expects to accommodate approximately 750 students studying undergraduate and post-graduate courses at each campus, with a significant additional number of online learners. The student demographic includes a number of mature professionals with established careers, as well as younger, highly motivated degree and master’s students. The opening of additional WaterBear centres in other locations will take the student numbers to over two thousand within the next few years. Known for innovation, quality and agility, WaterBear will dominate the music HE space in the UK.

II. JOB ROLE AND PURPOSEWaterBear Education Ltd. is seeking to appoint a Studio Technical Lead/Estates Assistant based in Sheffield.

In addition to the criteria listed above it is essentially the postholder’s responsibility to aim to work in a way befitting a healthy work-life balance. It is of utmost importance that the professionals within the WaterBear team are fully aware of the various demands on the students in our care. We believe that students will learn most effectively if they have the requisite time and headspace for reflection and are healthy and happy in their studies. We believe the same to be true for all our staff members. In support of this we may from time to time recommend and provide professional development coaching, training or mentoring for all WaterBear staff to underpin this facet of WaterBear culture.

JOB AIMS
We are looking for dynamic, enthusiastic creators to become the face of WaterBear’s social channels. This role is ideal for individuals who are deeply connected to their local music communities, confident on camera, and passionate about championing emerging artists and grassroots music culture.
Representing on WaterBear’s social channels (amongst a pool of other presenters), you will attend gigs, events and music industry happenings, presenting on camera and creating entertaining content that celebrates emerging artists, venues, students, the wider music community and WaterBear’s proud presence within this.
