JOIN US FOR FRESHER’S WEEK
Brighton Freshers Week 2026 is coming, and we cannot wait to welcome you to the city. Announcements are on their way, so watch this space and keep an eye on our Instagram for lineup reveals as they drop. If you are coming to Brighton for the first time, do not put yourself under too much pressure early on — there will be plenty of time to get to know the people and the city with the full support of the WaterBear community behind you. We will also have performance support slots open to new and existing students through our Apply to Play process, so stay close to our channels and be ready when applications open.

- Location: The WaterBear Venue, Brighton
How to sign up to attend: Entry will be on a first come, first served basis with a WaterBear Freshers wristband & valid proof of age.
Tuesday 15th September
- Event: WaterBear Queer Collective
- Location: WaterBear MusicBar, Brighton
How to sign up to attend: Entry will be on a first come, first served basis with a WaterBear Freshers wristband & valid proof of age.
Non-WaterBear students may also attend if capacity allows.
Wednesday 16th September 2026
- Headliner: Caity Baser
- Location: Concorde 2, Brighton
How to sign up to attend: Entry will be on a first come, first served basis with a WaterBear Freshers wristband & valid proof of age.
Additional guests or plus 1s are welcome at the Caity Baser event at Concorde 2. Guests will need to bring valid photo ID.
Thursday 17th September 2026
- Performers: Beanie/SMH/Equilibrium, Waymore (Promoter: 48Volts)
- Location: The WaterBear Venue, Brighton
How to sign up to attend: Entry will be on a first come, first served basis with WaterBear students needing a WaterBear Freshers wristband & valid proof of age.
This event is also open to all students in Brighton. If you have friends/housemates at other universities that want to come to this night, they can pay on the door. All must bring valid proof of age.
Friday 18th September 2026
- Collage & Connection – 17:00 – 19:00
- Silent Disco – 19:30 – 23:00
- Location: The WaterBear MusicBar, Brighton
How to sign up to attend: SIGN UP VIA: [email protected]. Must have WaterBear Freshers Wristband & valid proof of age.
Last entry for silent disco sign ups is 9pm – after that, any WaterBear student may enter (must have valid proof of age).

WRISTBAND COLLECTION
Freshers Week wristband collection opens on:
Date: Monday 14th September 2026
Time: 9am – 4:30pm
Please collect your Freshers wristband from the WaterBear MusicBar, at any point during these hours.
To collect your wristband you will need the following:
- Valid photo ID (Passport/Driving License)
- Confirmation of enrolment
WRISTBAND CARE
This wristband is your ticket to every WaterBear event this week, so please do not lose it as there are no replacements!
If you do not collect your wristband on Monday 14th September 2026, we cannot guarantee you entry to our freshers events.
Entry for ALL Freshers events are on a first come, first served basis, and open only to WaterBear students.
Exceptions

Our Freshers closing party on Thursday, is open to all students in Brighton. If you have friends/housemates at other universities that want to come to this night, they can pay on the door.
