Martin started his music career in 1986 as Ents Manager at Loughborough Students Union, before taking a job at Solo Agency booking shows and tours for a wide variety of major and developing acts. After 8 years as an agent he moved into marketing, as general manager of Revolution Promotions, before a brief foray into running a film marketing company. Returning fully to music he set up 1917 Corp, working closely with music colleges in developing new artists for major labels as well as working on music for a number of films. For the last 12 years Martin has been an artist manager, working with artists signed to major and independent labels and currently represents several acts including punk legend Pauline Murray, singer Bo Bruce and upcoming Scottish artist Cheape. He has an MA in Music Entrepreneurship where he researched artist management structures. Martin is a lifelong Leicester City fan, and boasts an encyclopaedic knowledge of British punk and new wave.
Rory Lethbridge is an Artist Manager, Musician, and Producer. Currently working at the legendary indie label Bella Union as part of their management team, he manages artists such as Plantoid, Holiday Ghosts, Divide and Dissolve, and Penelope Isles, among others. Rory is also the lead creative behind the Brighton psych band School Disco and a guitarist of The Stanford Family Band. His passion for creativity and supporting artists has equipped him with a diverse skill set. With experience as both a tour and events manager, he has worked across various levels, from organising DIY international tours with School Disco to managing tours at venues like Brighton Dome and Roundhouse. As an artist manager, Rory has developed a versatile skill set and can help you make key industry connections.
After finishing his Musicology MA at the University of Bristol, Stan worked in education in various capacities; from ESL in South Korea, to behavioural support in mainstream secondary schools, to supporting in SEN schools and schools solely dealing with autistic spectrum students. Since then, he has introduced the Study Skills module to BIMM FE and worked as Head of Curriculum and Assessment for the institution’s closing year.
Roxanne Abbott is a singer/songwriter, topliner, producer and guitarist. As a touring singer and guitarist she has played over 1000 gigs in a variety of bands across the Middle East and Asia. She also fronts and leads a wedding/function band. As a topliner/songwriter/producer she works with bespoke clients, and library and sync agencies such as LiftMusic and Sony Extreme. Roxanne has a passion for audience interaction and the psychology of music practice and performance (she narrated the ‘Inner Game of Music’ audiobook). She is also an alt-pop artist releasing her own music.
Since graduating in 2012, Sam has worked in the music industry as a session bassist and frontman. This has seen him tour, perform and gig extensively around the world. He has worked in a variety of settings such as cruise ships, hotel residencies, pubs and clubs, weddings and functions, ski season tours, tribute bands and theatre. He believes that versatility, drive, and personality are the keys to a career as a modern-day working musician and enjoys sharing his own experiences to help students find their way to a happy and fulfilling career.
Sam Coveney is a Brighton-based audio engineer and music producer with over 15 years of experience in recording, mixing, mastering, immersive audio, and live sound. Known for his technical precision and calm, creative approach, he works across studio and touring environments and is developing a speciality in Immersive Audio.
Simon has over 20 years of experience as a touring audio engineer and tour manager, specialising in the rock/metal genre. He has toured and continues to tour with international bands such as Skindred, Ghost, In Flames, Gojira, and Extreme to name a few. His live expertise also extends to pop music, where he has worked for artists Calvin Harris, Craig David, and Kelis among others. In addition to his live sound work, Simon has 15 years of experience in studio production. He owns and manages ALT Studios, a prominent commercial recording studio in Brighton & Hove. Beyond his industry roles, Simon has dedicated over a decade to education, teaching at various Higher Education (HE) and Further Education (FE) institutions, where he shares his extensive knowledge and passion for music production and audio engineering.
As a guitarist Terry has many live and recording credits with legendary soul artists, these include artists such as the The Impressions, The Emotions, Leon Ware, Billy Valentine, The Jones Girls, Jocelyn Brown, Lewis Taylor and Beverley Knight. His credits also include many heritage and contemporary popular artists including Jamie Woon, Lisa Stansfield, Young Gun Silver Fox, Nadine Coyle, Mollie King, Jo Harman, Sandi Thom and Bewitched. Terry has also toured the world as a member of the soul band Mamas Gun. They scored top 10 album and single positions in countries as far as Japan and Korea. He states his most surreal musical experience was playing ‘Let’s Get Ready to Rhumble’ with not only Ant & Dec, but also Led Zeppelins’ Robert Plant on harmonica!
Producer, studio engineer, DJ and tutor, Tim Belcher has many different guises under which he has released music over the last 16 years ranging from House to Techno, Downtempo to Drum & Bass. Signed to over 50 labels and with around 500 releases in total now, he has a wealth of knowledge to share about music production and the music industry.
Having toured the world under his Timo Garcia guise, releasing on Skint Records, Yoshitoshi, elrow music, Nervous and Toolroom in the past, he has now switched to his Nolan moniker with more records out on Mobilee, Get Physical, OFF Recordings, plus forthcoming releases coming out on Sasha’s Last Night On Earth imprint. Not to mention his recent collaborations with Douglas Horner as Cypherpunx signed to Crosstown Rebels + Bedock and downtempo project Flip Fantazia; their outfit for writing music for TV/Sync/Film signed to Ninja Tune PM, BMG PM, Cavendish and The Music Supervisors. ”
