What to do in a medical or mental health emergency
If you’re on campus or at one of the off-site venues and you’re experiencing any of the above, you should also alert staff at WaterBear HQ – speak to reception and ask to speak to either the Head of Education or Student Services Manager:

If you or someone else is in a mental health crisis and not at immediate risk of harm, call NHS 111.
Suicidal thoughts & self-harm
If you are having suicidal thoughts and intend to act on them imminently, you should call 999 and ask for an ambulance.
In cases of overdose and serious injury through self-harm you must seek immediate medical help by calling 999, even if you, or the person you are with, do not/does not feel unwell. The effects of an overdose can be delayed by hours (even days) and can be fatal.
When to call 999
If you are having suicidal thoughts and feel you cannot keep yourself safe or intend to act on your thoughts imminently – call 999 and ask for an ambulance.

OUT OF HOURS SUPPORT
The WaterBear wellbeing service operates from 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday. If you require support outside of those hours, then please use the below services. If you are in a situation where you are at immediate risk of serious harm (to yourself or another) then we recommend that you contact the emergency services on 999. Stay Safe!
Music Minds Matter
Available 24/7, their counsellors can offer immediate help in moments of crisis and also explore emotional support when it feels difficult to cope. They can also advise on a range of issues such as debt, employment law, benefits and housing. Every therapist on the end of the phone understands the music profession and the challenges that can impact the mental wellbeing of those in the industry.

This is a 24/7 telephone service offering listening support, advice, information and signposting to anyone experiencing difficulties with their mental health. This includes those who may be in crisis, distressed and in urgent need of help with their mental health.
