WaterBear bassists are in generally high demand and often find themselves playing with lots of bands and artists. Bass classes are kept smaller, and you’ll be plugging into your own Ampeg amp in class, for personal monitoring. You’ll also get regular time playing live on stage, with access to a range of amps from top quality manufacturers including Ampeg, Ashdown and Marshall, for all the power and tone you’ll need.

Music Business

Music is one of the UK’s greatest exports and, consequently, the UK music industry is vibrant, thriving place in which to make a career. There are many varied job roles in the industry, in addition to musicians and artists. Today’s musicians often enjoy portfolio careers, managing several different activities and income streams. This approach is central to the WaterBear ethos and all our students, whether you’re into making music or the business of music, will learn all about how today’s music industry works.

Drums

If you really want to play great drums, you’ll need to get regular time on an acoustic kit. That’s why all drum students at WaterBear learn in small groups of no more than 5, in a dedicated drum room on professional-standard acoustic kits. You’ll also need regular access to great tutors, and at WaterBear, we have some of the best tutors and mentors operating in the UK today.

Our Electronic Music department is designed to ensure our students can experiment, create and become the artists and producers they want to be. We have some of the UK’s top producers and artists that teach on our courses, all of them dedicated to music and to helping you reach your goals. We’re also very proud of our unique collaboration with Toolroom records, one of the world’s most innovative dance music brands.
