ELECTRONIC MUSIC AT WATERBEAR

Within a diverse music community you’ll experiment and create to become the electronic artist you want to be.

ELECTRONIC MUSIC EXPERIENCE

ELECTRONIC

EXPERIMENTATION

Our Electronic Music department is designed for our students to experiment, create and become the artists and producers they want to be. As an electronic music artist, it’s all about having the technical skills to unlock creative potential. It’s also about finding your sound and developing the confidence to communicate what’s in your head.

ESSENTIAL

GEAR

Having access to the right gear and equipment is a top priority. You’ll be using the proper software and hardware, both vintage and state-of-the-art, from day one. We’ve also partnered with leading companies like Pioneer DJ, Roland, Avid (Pro Tools), Ableton, Slate Digital, Steinberg (Cubase) and Novation to ensure you’re learning on professional-grade equipment.

TOOLROOM

RECORDS

We’re very proud of our collaboration with Toolroom Records, one of the world’s most innovative dance music brands. Partnerships like Toolroom provide A&R opportunities, expert advice, and valuable insight into the inner workings of the electronic music industry.

EQUIPMENT

AND FACILITIES

You’ll have access to a wide range of industry-standard facilities, including dedicated instrumental teaching spaces, working music venues, social areas, songwriting and meeting rooms, and Mac suites. Our teaching environments are fitted out with state-of-the-art digital A/V technology alongside classic vintage gear and modern musical equipment giving you the best of both worlds. You’ll also have free, bookable access to recording and rehearsal facilities. Additionally, the ability to record to a reasonable standard at home is also very useful.

LIVE

PERFORMANCE

You’ll have regular opportunities to perform live in working music venues in Brighton and Sheffield. We also offer support slot opportunities at numerous festivals, gigs, and events across the UK throughout the year. Live performance, along with the support of emerging artists and grassroots venues through our Keeping Music Live campaign, is central to what we do at WaterBear.
